Verstand AI ("we") publishes The Exposure Register and operates verstand.ai. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do about it.
What we collect
If you subscribe to The Exposure Register. Your email address, and the name you give us if any. Your subscription tier, status, and start date. If you subscribe to a paid tier, a billing record consisting of the card brand, the last four digits, and transaction history.
Engagement data. Whether issues were delivered, opened, and which links were clicked. This is standard email delivery telemetry, collected by our email platform. It informs which analytical layers we develop, and it drives the segmentation described in section 3.
If you use the website. Standard server logs, including IP address, browser and referrer.
If you contact us. The content of your message and your contact details.
If you enquire about advisory or enterprise access. Your organisation, role, and the areas of exposure you describe. Used to respond to the enquiry and nothing else.
What we never collect
We do not receive or store your full card number, expiry date, or security code. Those go directly to Stripe. See our payment security statement.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not rent, share or trade our subscriber list.

How long we keep it
Subscriber records: for as long as your subscription is active, and 24 months after it ends.
Engagement data: 24 months rolling.
Support correspondence: 24 months.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any issue, using the link at the foot of every email. Unsubscribing from emails is not the same as cancelling a paid subscription — to stop billing, cancel in the subscriber portal or email us. Both routes are described in the refund and cancellation policy.
Access, correct or delete. Email [email protected]. We respond within one business day. If you ask us to delete your data while a paid subscription is active, we will treat that as a cancellation request and confirm before acting, because deletion ends access.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use cookies to build a profile of you or follow you across other websites.The Exposure Register is email, and email does not use cookies. It does use two ordinary measurement techniques, which are where the engagement data described above comes from: each issue carries a small invisible image that records the issue was opened, and links in the issue pass through our email platform so clicks can be counted. Both are handled by beehiiv. If you read email with images turned off, the open is not recorded.
Home | The Exposure Register , where you subscribe and manage your subscription, is run for us by beehiiv. It sets two cookies as soon as you open it: one protecting its forms against cross-site request forgery, and one set by Cloudflare to tell people from bots. Both are needed for that page to work safely, and beehiiv's own privacy policy governs them.
Verstand AI — Geopolitical exposure, tracked to the balance sheet itself sets no cookies when you read it. The site carries no analytics and loads no third-party scripts. Its job application form sets one short-lived cookie, which is covered in the website privacy notice and has nothing to do with your subscription.The cookies above are strictly necessary to provide something you asked for, so we do not ask for consent to set them. If we add analytics or any non-essential cookie, we will update this notice first and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Children
The Exposure Register is intended for professional readers. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes
Material changes are emailed to active subscribers at least 30 days before they take effect.
